Bank of Commerce (BBC's) debtors in Canada and Switzerland.
Expected debt collection values are Baht 10,000 million
(approx. CAN$312.5 million) in Canada and Baht 500-600 million

|
Speaking
in an interview, Khun Thawat Damsa-ard explained that Tilleke
& Gibbins will cooperate with David and Company (the Canadian

TREE
PLANTING PARTNERSHIP
|
Early
in the morning of Saturday, August 21, 2004, staff members
of Tilleke & Gibbins and the Thoresen Group together
left on a three-hour journey to Baan Gudnoi School in
Tambon Gudnoi, Amphoe Sikiew, Nakornrachasima Province.
The main objective of the trip was to plant trees to commemorate
the 100th anniversary of Thoresen Group in Asia (a client
of our firm for almost that long). The Thoresen contingent
led by M.R. Chanramsirichoke, Chairman of Thoresen, and
the T&G group led by T&G Chairman David Lyman
(see pictures below) joined hands with the Baan Gudnoi
schoolchildren and villagers to plant 101 trees in a one-rai
area near the school.
At
the same time, we planted 100 trees dedicated to the memory
of the late Mr. Kenneth Slade, Senior Partner of Hale
and Dorr LLP, a member of Pacific Rim Advisory Council
(PRAC), who passed away in an accident, and 37 trees in
memory of the late Mr. Alan Cox, Global Head of GlaxoSmithKline's
Trademark Department.
This
special project will be carried out during the period
of August 2004 through July 2007 under the supervision
of the Rajapruek Institute Foundation.

TV
News Program to Feature T&G Lawyer

The
Nation Channel, aired via Thai TV 1, approached T&G
through Mr. Thawat Damsa-ard (DRD) to launch a new business
law program. After discussion with the program's host,
Mr. Banjong Chewamongkolkarn, it was agreed that the
three-minute program would principally revolve around
legal topics that relate to stock investment and other
business issues of interest to Nation Channel's audience.
The intention is to provide legal knowledge of business
relevance in a language that is easy to understand for
the general public.
Since
late March 2004, Nation Channel has started building
stock of episodes by filming our lawyers every Friday
morning for two hours from around 10 o'clock in an interview
format. Hitherto, twelve episodes have been added to
the stock with a target of around 30 or more episodes
in stock before the debut of the program.
