Trademarks
Pending the enactment of the draft Marks
Protection Act, a registration procedure is in place whereby applications
can be filed in Cambodia for registration of trademarks, service
marks, collective marks, and figurative marks.

Notes
Application for Registration:
All documents
must be prepared in French or English in printed letters.
The
following documents must be submitted along with the application
for registration:
- Power
of Attorney issued by the applicant and notarized by a Notary
Public. Only one Power of Attorney is required for multiple
applications.
- Twenty-five
specimens of the trademark.
- Specification
of goods to be covered by the application. A separate application
is required for each class.
- A
declaration by the applicant duly signed by an authorized person.
Registration Procedure:
An examination of the trademark application will be conducted
within a maximum period of two months from the date the application
was filed in due form. The results of such examination will thereafter
be communicated.
Recordation of Changes:
Recordation of change of name, address and
list of goods can also be filed.
Period of Registration:
The term of registration shall be 10 years
from the filing date of the application, renewable for additional
periods of 10 years.
